Canadian Bacon Waffles with Cherry Sauce




Here is a recipe for the fantastic-sounding combination of Canadian bacon and cherries (earlier we took a look at a similar recipe using apricots instead of cherries). This one calls for the cook to add diced Canadian bacon to the waffle batter and to top with delicious cherry sauce and whipped cream.

Published in the early 1970s, this is a sweet treat...literally. The combination of apricots sauteed in maple syrup is indeed quite sweet. When mixed with Canadian bacon, you have something truly hearty and totally tasty.

Bacon Waffles!




There's no big secret to making bacon waffles when you use this recipe that was featured in a 1944 newspaper...just throw some slices of uncooked bacon on top of the waffle batter before you close the waffle iron! For the sake of food safety, however, you may want to pre-cook the bacon.
